Single review: Safe To Swim ‘Friends’

Brightonian four-piece Safe To Swim prove that indie-rock is well and truly here to stay with their infectious new single ‘Friends’, out now.

Fronted by lead singer Jim Filippides‘ laid back vocal style and combined with the rest of the lads’ hook-laden guitar riffs and pulsating drum beats, this track is a vibrant indie hit from the get-go.  Reminiscent of the likes of Weezer and fellow Brightonians The Magic Gang‘s chilled out sound, we’re pretty certain 2019 could be an exciting year for this young band. Its not all smiles however, as the single is inspired by Jim’s friends who had tragically lost someone very close to them. A poignant tribute from the band, making this song all the more relatable and lovable.

‘Friends’ is out now.
