Single Review: Sabatta ‘Scream Of Consciousness’

Having gained recognition from the likes of Afro Punk, BBC 6 Music and Louder Sound, psychedelic alt.rockers Sabatta have unveiled their booming new single Scream Of Consciousness.

Exhibiting a style that can be closely linked to punk legends Bad Brains and Dead Kennedys, Scream Of Consciousness is almost four minutes worth of uncompromising modern punk rock music. Opening with an eerie, deliberate drum beat, Scream Of Consciousness kicks in as thrashing guitar segments are traded with the charismatic vocals of frontman Yinka Oyewole who bristles throughout the track. Backed by an impressive rhythm section headed up by bassist Debbie Dee, Sabatta have produced a song full of raw dynamism and in your face lyrics.

The band have already wowed crowds the Decolinise Punk Fest, alongside Skinny Girl Diet and Punx of Colour Fest in New York as well as being featured in a C-Heads photo series celebrating the UK Person of Colour punk scene. Now Sabatta are gearing up to release their album Misfit Music on June 4th 2018 with the aim of spreading their mantra of ‘fuck genres, fuck labels, fuck rules and fuck fitting in’ to a wider audience.

Scream Of Consciousness is out now.
