Today Today Tomorrow is the latest single release from North East-based singer songwriter Ren Lawton. The title track from his debut album, out February 2022, Today Today Tomorrow follows recent single ‘Love By Night’.
Today Today Tomorrow is another sincerely earnest song, a style of songwriting that has become synonymous with Ren Lawton’s past releases. Coming in at under three minutes, the single is a breezy, gentle composition that feels like a crisp, winters Sunday morning. Starting with lightly strummed guitar, Today Today Tomorrow is offset by soothing piano notes, the track framing Conor Owen’s (aka Ren Lawton) vocals, allowing the lyrics to take centre stage.
Lyricism is where Ren Lawton places a huge amount of emphasis. Each rack is a vehicle for Conor to display the admiration and inspiration garnered from storytellers such as Bob Dylan and Frank O‘Connor.
