Single Review: Peace – Money

After releasing their debut album ‘In Love’ they are set to release their second studio album later this year entitled ‘World Pleasure’There initial release off this record is their first single ‘Money’…

“I wrote Money at some point last year whilst trying to write a song about anything but myself. I realised I wasn’t born into it & I still don’t have it & as a song it just seemed to work. It’s not negative, bitter or whingey. I just feel like this year I got a ticket to the circus & I’m trying to decide if I’m a lion or a clown.”

– Harry Koisser

Money‘ received its first play on Hottest Record in the World on Radio 1 by Huw Stephens on 15 April 2014 and will be released on 9th  June 2014 with the official album release date still unknown.

The track is essentially a satirical view of the focus and desire for money. With some sharp lyrics that are hyper relevant – including a mention of Bitcoin the new cyber currency – and a fantastic hook, Peace find a great way to combine a real issue with a great song. It has almost a 90’s feel to it with its electronic sections that really add to the melody. The structure of the song is typical of the band, it has a pop under layer but a certain quirkiness that is reflected in the vocal.

I can already imagine this reigning as a live anthem. This is without a doubt a crowd pleaser and we will be definitely keeping an eye for Peace as we hit festival season. The band will certainly be getting around this summer where they are scheduled to play Isle of Wight, Boardmasters and Reading/Leeds. So lots of opportunity to get out and see them.

The band look set for another great year and this single sets up promising vibes for the new album.
