Single Review: Papercuts – Freja Frances

Having previously received praise from the likes of Gigslutz and For Folk’s Sake, Freja Frances now returns with tender new single, ‘Papercuts’, out now.

Carried by a bittersweet piano melody and paired with Freja’s sincere vocals, the singer-songwriter has created something truly heartfelt and earnest. Laden with a sprinkling of a rich cello arrangement, ’Papercuts’ showcases Frances’ unique ability to write moving and cordial music that remains simple at the core.

Told through a fairytale theme, the track is about a feeling of self-inflicted isolation and a distance from reality. Strikingly emotional and delicate, ‘Papercuts’ is definitely one for fans of Birdy and Gabrielle Aplin to relish.

‘Papercuts’ is out now via ShimmerSun Music.
