Dutch singer-songwriter Nana M. Rose releases her debut single Love Me Like I Love You today.
The track opens with beautifully atmospheric piano keys before being accompanied by Nana’s deep and powerful vocal. The opening line of “Oh baby, tell me again baby, about how my fire surrounds you. Cos lately, I’m feeling maybe, my heart is not keeping you warm” sets the tone of the track, suggesting undertones of sadness and heartbreak to come. The vocal is stunning as Nana progresses through the first verse to the chorus and her deep, gravelly tones are contrasted against soaring high notes. The chorus of “But I’m tired of longing, tired of wanting to make you love me like I love you” is sung from the heart as Nana exposes all of her vulnerabilities. There’s no denying the resemblance to Adele at this point which is probably one of the highest accolades a female singer could be given. I love the piano keys that swoop in along with the brooding strings that add a haunting and ethereal air to the track. Love Me Like I Love You is moving, powerful and unforgettable and Nana M. Rose’s vocal is one that I hope we hear much more of in the future.

Nana M. Rose’s stunning vocal draws comparisons to and inspiration from female heavyweights such as Adele, Amy Winehouse and Jorja Smith. She was born in the small Dutch city of ’s-Hertogenbosch, growing up listening to many musical genres, and knew she wanted to make singing a part of her life after taking lessons at a young age. Nana moved to London where she developed a love for performing and is now based in Rotterdam where she was a finalist in this year’s prestigious musical award the Great Prize of Rotterdam.
