Single Review: HAWK – ‘Keeps Me Out’

Having previously charmed our ears with the gritty beauty and politically-charged angst of tracks such as last year’s double A-side ‘Can’t Explain’ / ‘Below’, HAWK have fast been building their reputation with support from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, HMV and Wonderland, and have now returned with another beguiling new single.

Oozing a sweeping, shoegaze-inspired haze, ‘Keeps Me Out’ is inspired by those days when the most tempting decision is to do nothing and immerse yourself in distractions. Flowing with an ethereal splendour, it’s propelled by the delicate emotion-strewn power of front-woman Julie’s celestial crystal-clear vocals as twinkling hooks create a captivating, swirling atmosphere. With its unique, spellbinding majesty, it’s impossible not to be completely swept away by the sparkling beauty of another utterly flawless creation from this band.

‘Keeps Me Out’ is out now via Veta Records.
