‘Fire’ comes as a new single from Gavin DeGraw upon the release of a compilation album of his greatest hits, ‘Finest Hour: The Best of Gavin DeGraw‘.
The song sets off with piano and violin leading into the beat introduction from the bass drum, accompanying the piano chord progression. The guitar strumming pattern brings about the addition of a funky vibe through the verse; the addition of a cello in the second verse builds momentum and adds a little elegance to the song.
The full band plays into the chorus, creating a strong powerful vibe to support lyrics “We are the champions, setting it off again, oh we on fire“. DeGraw’s vocal performance is strong throughout and full of passion, giving the song a real anthemic feel.
The music video shows the story of women within different occupations together in a roller derby team showing their strength in working hard to beat an opposing team.
