Single review: East of My Youth ‘By Blue’

East of My Youth take us on a magical journey with their latest single ‘By Blue’.

If you’re a fan of Lykke Li, Vallis Alps or the captivating female vocals of the likes of Lana Del Rey, then look no further than East of My Youth’s ‘By Blue’. Following the critical acclaim of last year’s singles ‘Broken Glass’ and ‘Go Home’ the Icelandic electro-pop duo have now returned with another mesmerising track.

Talking about the making of the track, the Reykjavik duo explain, “’By Blue’ started as a jam session in the studio, so we didn’t release its potential at the time and packed it safely into a drawer of forgotten things. When we revisited the song, the whole meaning came through in a new and interesting way. We were going through changes in life and our project, so the song went through a metamorphosis and became something new and unknown to us.”

While listening to ‘By Blue’, the listener can easily drift away into their own thoughts. It is the duo’s first single of 2019 and we can’t wait to hear what they have in store for the rest of the year. Watch this dreamy space!

‘By Blue’ is out now via West Of My Future Ltd.
