Single Review: We Came From Wolves – ‘Places Unfamiliar’

With influences ranging from Reuben to The Smiths, Scottish indie-rockers We Came From Wolves have received acclaim from the likes of Kerrang! and Amazing Radio and are fast building a reputation for their energy-fuelled live performances. Now, the band are back with a brand new single.

‘Places Unfamiliar’ is a catchy slice of raw rock. Filled with pounding beats, powerful, driving riffs and impassioned vocals, it blasts from the speakers with a ferocious energy in the vein of the likes of fellow Scots Biffy Clyro.

The track expresses just how important music is for the band, as front-man Kyle Burgess says:

“ (it’s) a frank account and admission that this is who I am, I’m not going to grow out of it and for the sake of my mental and physical health… It took me a long time to realise just how much this means to me…this song was the realisation. This song saved me.”

With last year seeing a change in line-up for the band, it would seem that We Came From Wolves are on stronger form than ever, and I can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us next.

Places Unfamiliar is out 4th November 2016 via Vadana Records.
