Single review: Bad Wave ‘Good Son’

The LA duo write an ode to mothers everywhere with their latest piece of electro-pop goodness. Bad Wave’s ‘Good Son’ is out now.

Perhaps a little slower than their previous singles, but no less addictive, Bad Wave’s ‘Good Son’ feels almost like an electro-pop lullaby at times. Woozy electronics intertwine effortlessly with indie-rock hooks to create something that even has a hint of psychedelia to it. As the single reaches its climax, electronic twists and turns are even more prominent, reminding us of Metronomy or Tame Impala. ‘Good Son’ is yet another example of the duo’s ability to create intelligent pop songs with a meaningful and sentimental message. We hope their mums are proud, because we certainly are.
