Single review: Animal House ‘No Mamma’

Since moving away from the glorious sunny shores of Australia and migrating over to the slightly less sunny shores of Brighton beach, Animal House have gone from strength to strength. Their instantly infectious single ‘No Mamma’ debuts a brand new project for the five-piece called Premium Mediocre and we’re so here for it.

As explained by the band, Premium Mediocre is “a whole new range of deluxe, home brand, high quality, low-budget ear worms. Forget Tesco Value, forget Sainsbury’s Basics, Premium Mediocre is your new family fave.” To cut a long story short, for the next 12 months, Animal House will be releasing a new single every two weeks – no pressure lads! The first of which was the highly addictive ‘No Mamma’, which combines garage-pop goodness, tomfoolery and one hell of a hook to create a sound that falls somewhere between The Strokes, Twin Peaks and FIDLAR. Nice.

Also, if that’s not enough, check out ‘Peaches‘ and Outside‘ – the next two releases from their Premium Mediocre project – now!
