Single Review: Alcabean – ‘Bloody Pose’

Having received support from the likes of Punktastic, Clash and Team Rock, Danish rockers Alcabean follow their 2016 EP Real Time Fiction with a brand new single.

Racing with thrashing beats, scuzzy riffs and the swooning vocals of Victor Schack, ‘Bloody Pose’ oozes shades of the likes of Drenge, creating a reverb-strewn frenzy as it builds in epic intensity. Addressing the common difficulties facing young adults, and the pains of growing up and finding your own identity, it’s a truly infectious slice of raw indie rock. Of the track, the band explain:

Bloody Pose is about allowing yourself to not be completely happy all the time and just lose the ‘pose’ when you’re experiencing negative emotions… People tend to always want to show off, especially when it comes to social media. I guess this song is about what lies underneath the surface.”

A perfect fusion of dark melancholy and uplifting driving energy, ‘Bloody Pose’ marks Alcabean out as a definite one to watch in 2018.

‘Bloody Pose’ is out now via We Are Suburban. And Alcabean’s upcoming EP Head Down is set for release next year.
