Oxford’s alternative rock five-piece have released they explosive new single ‘Enrage Engage’. The track follows recent single ‘Spaceman’ and showcases the band’s idiosyncratic approach.
The two tracks are cuts from the band’s forthcoming album, also entitled ‘Enrage Engage’, as the band kickstart their career following a short self-imposed break. Self Help already have an impressive history having supported a who’s who of band’s ranging from Squid and Goat Girl to The Murder Capital and Animal House.
‘Enrage Engage’ immediately captures the listener’s attention with a collection of blinks and bleeps and jumps straight into the unique vocal. Taking aim at modern society’s ill’s, Self Help build throughout the song into storm of propellant beats, swirling guitars and hip shaking bass lines in all coming together in a psychedelic monsoon.
With ‘Spaceman’ having already set the scene in terms of what the listener can expect from the up coming album: a kind of dissonant post-punk complete with sardonic lyricism and boisterous sonics.
The band will support the release of their album with a tour. You can catch Self Help on the following dates:
21st May – London (New Cross Inn)
28th June – Oxford (The Bullingdon Arms)
Single ‘Enrage Engage’ is out now and is taken from the debut album of the same name, due for release on 7th June 2024.
