Sagna Set to End Arsenal Stay

Bacary Sagna has told Arsenal he will be leaving the club this summer after seven years in North London.

The 31-year-old, who moved to the Emirates Stadium in 2007 from Auxerre, is seeking a fresh challenge as his contract expires in the summer.

The Gunners have tried to persuade Sagna to sign an extension after his impressive displays this season. However, they are now looking for a replacement at right-back after the Frenchman rejected their latest offer.

It is believed Arsenal are not willing to reward the player with a two year contract worth £100,000-per-week that would make him one of the club’s highest paid players.

Sagna has been linked with a move to Manchester City, which would reunite him with former Arsenal duo Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy, although interest from Turkey is said to be high with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce on alert.

Arsenal have been linked with Southampton’s Calum Chambers and Everton’s Seamus Coleman to replace Sagna who has over 200 Premier League appearances for the club alone.
