Review: Squarehead – Those Things You Do

Tipped to top the ‘UK House Funk’ chart, Squarehead a.k.a Oliver Ledger seals that sub-sound from Sheffield.

This budding youth strips back a bumpy bassline, injecting a crunchy flow of garage grooves and cool vocals whilst casually drawing classic vibes from the delights of Joy Orbison and Julio Bashmore.

With his attacking track ‘On The Line’ forging his fate, Squarehead rolls on with this nice little groover ‘Those Things You Do’, whilst candidly ripping a release off “Catz n’ Dogz Polish Imprint Pet Recordings” recognisably home to some of the greats such as Eats Everything and A1 Bassline.

Oliver Ledgers fresh take on house funk style, is bagging him headline slots across the UK, shaping a strong Radio support system which consistently provides those solid sounds so hotly tuned for.
