Review: You Me At Six- Lived A Lie (Single)

After a very long two year gap, British rockers You Me At Six have returned to their craft with a massive bang.

Diving back into the spotlight with their brand new single, ‘Lived A Lie’, premiered on BBC Radio 1 as the Hottest Record with Zane Lowe, this was certainly one worth waiting for.

The track opens on an electric guitar riff buried behind frontman, Josh Franceschi’s vocals. As the drums kick in, the arrival of a familiar You Me At Six chorus is right on time with a catchy punch. The upbeat melody is bound to have you singing this track over and over again, sort of signalling that the guys are taking their developed sound at least halfway back to their ‘Take Off Your Colours’ roots.

In the interest of their massive fanbase, Josh and Max also announced on the worldwide exclusive interview that there is in fact an album, entitled ‘Cavalier Youth’, on the way, and if it’s the remaining 11 tracks are anything like the first single, ‘Lived A Lie’, the music world are in for a real treat.

Lived A Lie’ will be available to download on iTunes at midnight.
