Album Review: Royal Blood – Self Titled

Brighton rock duo Royal Blood have set the UK alight since breaking onto the scene late last year and have now rose to the top with their self titled debut EP.

After a year thats included supporting Arctic Monkeys and Pixies at huge outdoor shows and huge festival sets, the band’s self titled debut LP went straight to the top of the UK charts on release and is the fastest selling debut rock album since Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, not bad for a debut album..

The hard hitting album includes massive singles ‘Out of the Black’, ‘Little Monster’ and ‘Come on Over’ as well as other tracks that have made Royal Blood one of the most popular bands of the summer as they stormed through sets at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds and many others in the UK and around Europe.

Best album tracks ‘Loose Change’ and ‘Figure it Out’ bring out the best in the duo; the structured tracks explode towards the end with fast paced, energetic guitar riffs that have helped propel the band to the top in such a small space of time. ‘Royal Blood’ takes the band to the next level live and will go down as one of the greatest debut albums of all time.
