Review: Peace – ‘In Love’

Indie pop group Peace have streamed their debut album ‘Is Love’ on www.nme.com ahead of its release on March 25.

Right from the off with album opener ‘Higher Than The Sun’, your sent into vintage indie pop paradise, excellent guitar riffs, raw and powerful vocals and a real feel good anthem, the perfect tone for the rest of the album as the album reflects the opening track.

‘Lovesick’ is the stand out track on the album, sounding like it could be a future single and a definite summer anthem, catchy lyrics and rhythm that will certainly catch your attention as you flick through the album on your first listen.

‘Float Forever’ slows the album down in the middle, perfect timing. The song bringing out the best in the bands lyrical content and another track that’s certainly up there with the best on the album. Previous single ‘California Daze’ closes the album in a perfect way, everything from all the songs, future indie classics to even the track listing make this album one for your summer collection.

Also including first single ‘Wraith’, the 10 song LP is set to further the bands success after being arguably the stand out band on the NME Awards show tour which toured the UK last month.

There isn’t a song on this album that wouldn’t fill a dance floor. ‘Is Love’ is a future classic indie record and will certainly push the band into further success, playing bigger tours in bigger venues. A band to look out for this year as they make 2013 their year.
