Review: Jake Bugg – Academy 3, Manchester – 17/11/2012

Fresh from touring America with the legendary Noel Gallagher and Snow Patrol, new kid on the block Jake Bugg is back on home turf for his UK tour.

Playing to a sold out Manchester Academy 3 crowd, which already seems too small for him, he played a 14-song set containing tracks from his self-titled début album and ‘Taste It’ EP.

Hitting the stage with his notable Fred Perry Harrington Jacket and acoustic guitar, he opened with ‘Taste It’ b side ‘Kentucky’; before following with ‘Love Me The Way You Do’.

Adding in album classics ‘Seen it All’ amongst others and finishing every song with a thank you was just about all he said, but his music and live performance did all the talking for him. His songs were met with a massive crowd sing along and singles ‘Lightning Bolt’ and ‘Taste It’ sent the crowd crazy.

You can see that Jake Bugg will be headlining arenas in the future, as he goes onto support Stone Roses next summer whilst being heavily supported by the likes of Noel Gallagher.

It’s clear that he has all the support he needs and he’s certainly living most 18-year olds dream!
