Review: Elouisa EP – The Swiss

Australian duo The Swiss (Luke Million and Tony Mitolo) are back with a new dance/funk EP Elouisa, out 17th June on Kitsuné.

After their house meets disco hit single ‘Bubble Bath’, The Swiss give us a disco/dance EP rammed full of good vibes, catchy riffs, groove laden bass and booty shaking keyboards.

The high pitched vocals and bass groove of ‘Elouisa’ brings the feel of old school disco, as modern dance elements are brought to the table by the keyboards and cheesy guitar solo. Sounding like a more in your face version of Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’.

‘Peach Pit’ on the other hand is all nondescript dance, boring guitar runs and standard bass.

The EP also contains two exclusive remixes of ‘Elouisa’, one by Villa and the other by Late Night Tuff Guy. I personally prefer Late Night Tuff Guy’ remix, Villa’s effort is a bit too similar to Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup’s ‘We Speak No Americano’ for my liking.

Out of ‘Elouisa’s’ four track’s half are good if not great, but I feel the second half is lacking a certain something.
