Review: City and Colour – The Hurry and The Harm

The latest offering from the Canadian solo artist is a very, very solid effort; the title track features a calm and melodic acoustic guitar and eases the listener in.

“The Hurry and The Harm” is Dallas Green’s fourth overall album and his 22nd release in total, and it has certainly kept with the acoustic melodic tone that has been expected of him. The album, released on the record label Dine Alone, had all 12 songs written and composed by Dallas Green.

The album’s stand out song comes from ‘Commentators’, and goes against this whole album and quite possibly Greens’ entire discography, it almost toys with the notion of being a pop song with its catchy 1-2 beat. The album, released on the record label Dine Alone, had all 12 songs written and composed by Green.

As an album it’s very easy to listen to and highly enjoyable to relax to after a long week. Green knows what he is, and sticks to it very well with meaningful lyrics, he doesn’t stray away from what he knows best.
