The Noisettes Star Bobbie Gordon To Release New Solo EP

From her work with The Noisettes (who she’s toured with since the release of ‘Never Forget You’) to singing backing vocals for Adele, British singer Bobbie Gordon gears up to release her new solo EP.

‘SKIN’ is the first single unveiled, an electronic-pop gem with hints of drum n bass and Bobbie’s distinctive vocal, produced by Luke Oldham of production duo N55.

Following in the footsteps of her Mum before her, Bobbie Gordon began her career as a backing and wedding singer after graduating the infamous ACM Music College (Guildford). The smooth-voiced soulstress began to make her mark singing for renowned artists such as Cee-Lo Green and OneRepublic at their UK shows, eventually bagging backing vocal duties on Adele’s UK and US tours which elevated her own fan-base over night.

Brought up in a melting pot of cultures in South East London’s Lewisham, Bobbie is proud of her London roots, counting Lewisham Fruit Market and Blackheath Village as her favourite day time haunts. When the lights go down she asks “take me to a good old-fashioned house party that’s only playing Simply Red and Neneh Cherry!”

Her work with The Noisettes has been well-documented, and after working with other artists such as Kele Okereke of Bloc Party, Bobbie decided to release a solo EP – ‘Matters of the Heart’. It was received well and was co-signed by media titles including ThisisFakeDIY, and SoulBounce.

Over the past year, Bobbie has developed her solo sound, which was well showcased with a feature on Bondax track ‘Just Smile For Me’. As well as recording for her new EP, Bobbie has been working closely with Bondax, Last Japan and Luke Oldham (N55) and illustrates her love of 80’s and 90’s music… “I wish I could grab the 90’s and my experiences and put it in a bottle and drink it now! Instead, I’m making music that’s a tip-of-the-hat to my generation’s youth.” – Bobbie Gordon

Lead single ‘Skin’ is produced by Luke Oldham of production duo N55, whose remix credits also include Aluna George. A previous collaboration with Bobbie Gordon can be found on 2012 N55 track ‘Bring on the Night’.

Bobbie’s new EP is expected to be released in June 2013. Until then, check out her title track ‘Skin’ below:
