Brighton collective, Night House, have followed up their recent release ‘Unfold’ with the shimmering new single ‘To Be With’.
‘To Be With’ is a two part single released alongside b-side ‘New Year’s Prayer’. On it, the Brighton seven-piece continue to explore reflective, introspective electro sounds. The result is a combination of the folk-tinged offerings of acts such as Villagers with the delicate, intimate synths of James Blake. Merging poignant, minimal soundscapes with the aching vocals of singer Nick Williams, ‘To Be With’ is a dreamy, emotive production full of ambient twists and turns.
The single was produced and mixed by Dan Brown (Massive Attack, Jerry Williams), and was written after the passing of lead singer Nick Williams’ grandfather and is a love song told from the perspective of those left behind. ‘To Be With’ is an emotive offering exploring themes of our own fragile mortality.
Night House are a seven piece band made up of Alfie Weedon (double bass), Amy Squirrell (cello), Andrew Stuart Buttle (violin), Freya Bowes (clarinet), Juan Torán (electric guitar) and James Purvice (drums). Having supported the likes of Ben Howard, Willy Mason and The Magic Numbers, Night House have since gone onto pick up support from tastemakers sites such as Clash Magazine, The Vinyl District and Come Here Floyd. Recently the band premiered their video for ‘Unfold’ on notable LGBTQ Attitude Magazine. Latest single ‘To Be Me’ is taken from the forthcoming album ‘Everyone Is Watching From Afar’ and has been released alongside b-side ‘New Year’s Prayer’.
