Day One Wii U ‘Hackcident’ May Have Revealed New Games

A user from gaming forum NeoGAF (where else) claims to have accidentally hacked into the Wii U just hours after it launched in the States, revealing a cache of hidden debugging content.

Trike posted evidence of his exploits late this evening, showing admin controls, a user list and test forums. He initially believed that these were online, but has since concluded that it was merely test data stored on the console.

The story doesn’t end there though. The screenshot of the forums mentions several games and series by name, including Yoshi’s Land Wii U, Metal Gear Solid, Metroid, Resident Evil and Soul Hackers.

While they may all have been made up or relate to past games, it seems odd that the Yoshi forum would have such a specific title. Metal Gear, Metroid and Resi games would also make sense with Nintendo’s existing partnerships.

Nintendo have already closed the loophole, but if you want to laugh at their misfortune (how could you?), the thread and its fine selection of gifs can be found here.
