Monaco set to complete move for Falcao, Valdes not far behind

Monaco are set to complete their third blockbuster signing of the summer as Radamel Falcao arrived in the Principality earlier today with an eye to completing his transfer within the next 24 hours.

The Columbian striker is set to complete his move from Atletico after the Spanish club accepted a £51m bid to part with their top-scorer from the past two seasons.

Falcao will be the third ex-porto player to sign for Monaco after Joao Moutinho and Jay Rodriguez completed their £60m combined move last week.

Falcao also becomes the third player Monaco have snatched from the jaws of potential Premier League suitors as Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs were touted to be interested in the forward’s services.

Victor Valdes is also on the verge of joining Monaco although the fee is undisclosed at the moment it is believed to be quite low as the Spanish keeper is in the final year of his current Barca contract.

Both players are expected to have their medicals on Tuesday morning as the final details are ironed out before the deal is completed later in the day.
