Local Corner: Reva & Small Print, Liverpool East Village Arts Club

Liverpool’s iconic music venue East Village Arts Club was the host to a homecoming gig to two of the cities hottest bands this weekend.

Headlined jointly by Reva and Small Print, the two bands had packed sets at the sold out venue as they both got the party started ahead of everyone being left deflated by England’s World Cup defeat; support came from Rangoon Sons and Lyra.

First up were Reva, fronting England flags and scarfs on stage as they brought their indie brit-pop anthems and new material on stage. Mixing their classics from their debut EP ‘The Modern Times’ with more heavier material from their forthcoming EP, Reva wowed the crowd from the opening minute as they launched into most recent single ‘Landslide’ which was released exclusively here.

Playing their huge city anthems ‘Justice’ and ‘Keep Dreaming’, the crowd responded in what was one of Reva’s finest sets to date.

Onto final headliners of the night, the band everyone is talking about in Liverpool, Small Print. Causing mayhem on social media recently by releasing two singles ‘Faces’ and most recently ‘Lie to Me’, Small Print are the band that join the dots between alternative dance music and indie -esque of the Last Shadow Puppets.

The rising band, who have extended to gigs around the UK so far this year, the band not only bring the tunes, but they create an atmosphere and feeling that they are going to be unstoppable as they rise to National acclaim.

Both of these bands are ones to keep an eye on, with constantly sold out venues at home, it wont be long before both bands are doing the same around the country.
