After a year of ‘will he, won’t he’ speculation, Chelsea have taken the final steps towards completing a move for 22-year-old, Andre Schurrle.
News has broken from Germany that the Europa League champions have agreed a fee, believed to be £20m, for the young German international plus the loan transfer of young Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne in the opposite direction for a year.
The deal has been in the offing for a number of months now with many expecting it to have gone through in January. The only sticking point has been the involvement of Kevin De Bruyne but the Blues have now relented in an attempt to get their man and Schurrle will now fly to London after his release by the German national team to finalise the deal.
