Electro London trio Years & Years are making waves in the industry, and may look familiar as front man Olly Alexander played Jacob in the final series of hit tv show Skins and also was an actor in the huge film Great Expectations.
The trio formed back in 2010 and have had a slow burning career so far, with debut single ‘Traps’ catching the attention of DJ’s at BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6 and featuring on Kitsune’s 15th compilation.
Their mix of ambient electro and soulful pop is something that stands out from the huge crowds of musicians currently trying to make a name for themselves in the industry and have a sound that will be popular with fans of the likes of Fenech Soler, Delphic and Chvrches.
Just finishing a tour with MØ, the trio are set to be a smash hit this summer and a must for all iPods and mp3 players for when you head to the beach or on your travels.
Latest single ‘Real’ was released last month (February) and is catching the ears of many, and a track that could turn out to be the trio’s breakthrough on their way to being the next big dance group to take over the UK, this summer could feel like it goes on for Years & Years..
