Meadowlark are a Bristol-based folk-pop trio bringing a level of familiarity to your ears…
The name Kate McGill might ring a bell?
Yes, the highly successful youtube sensation. Well, Meadowlark is her new venture consisting of herself, Carl Jones and Daniel Broadley, and what a promising route it’s looking to be. Sort of a continuation of her solo stuff, Meadowlark’s sound captivates the pretty and innocent texture of Kate’s vocals while delivering it on a more intricate depth of a band sound.
The acoustic pop blends to a folk-ish sound – reminiscent of Nina Nesbitt meet Gabrielle Aplin. Male/Female harmonies in places add that bit of spark to the trio’s sound.
The band released a demo of ‘Family Tree’ – a beautifully emotive track of gentle sounds and smooth vocals. Check it out below alongside a Fortitude favourite – ‘I’ve Got You’…
