Launchbox: M O S E S

London + emerging + rock n roll. In terms of text-based teasers MOSES had a pretty good start in my books. Coming together at the start of 2015, these 4 guys have been writing some killer material that has thrown them into the blogosphere and gained recognition from the likes of Glastonbury, who have longlisted them for their Emerging Talent Competition. Not an easy thing to do for any artist, let alone those who are at risk of being categorised into ‘band with guitar’.

House of Savages is constantly out there seeking for fresh talent on the ground to perform and (in some cases) take their first breaks in the live music circuit. Upon first hearing MOSES and finding them on Soundcloud there was something very special and very ‘now’ about this band that couldn’t be ignored. Channeling the power of current indie with a southern tinge of raw realness to their lyrics they’re already sounding like they’ve been in a studio for several months putting together the finishing touches of an EP.

Teasing “Cause You Got Me” just a couple weeks ago we’ve got a secondary taste of what this band can do and it’s exciting stuff. Arctic Monkeys, Last Shadow Puppets, Pretty Vicious and Vant can all draw comparables to their sound, yet their drumming up something new for those under the age of 20. They never really heard the origins of this style so bands like MOSES are introducing them to this brilliant genre for the first time.

This act already have venues and promoters opening doors and inviting them in across town and we’re delighted to have them on board for March’s House Of Savages event. They’re locked in for Camden Rocks Festival in June of this year and this could well be the first of many summer shows for them. Catch them early before the mosh pits become standard at their shows.
