Launchbox: Indigo Husk

For fans of: The Vaccines, Blood Party, Dazychains.

Capturing the resurgent spirit of indie with a modern twist, Indigo Husk are a very bright star in the emerging London music scene. We met them first earlier this summer as an opening act, but after a month or so locked in their studio working hard on a brand new EP, they rejoin the House Of Savages line-up as a deserved headliner.

With bright, uplifting melodies and a span of inspirations from The Vaccines through to comparisons to newcomers in the scene, such as Coast Modern and Viola Beach, it’s the perfect indication it’s not just us that are getting super excited about this acts sound. Embracing the spirit of their youth and leaving the strong content and lyrics to those more experienced in life, their tracks still ooze fun and accomplished muscianship. With a chemistry on stage that is rare in an act so young, there is definitely something special to take away after making the trip to see these four London lads live at a gig.

We were first taken in by their earlier track ‘Broken Bones — a really strong indie grower with comparisons to your favourite 00’s Brit rockers — but their latest EP Packed Lunch has a real spread of styles to play through, whilst staying true to their core sound. For the more sensitive ears among us, try ‘French Toast’ to warm you up to them. For those who like a good bounce around and lock into some singalong etiquette then ‘Misbehave’ is for you.
