Launchbox: Etches

Based in Liverpool, Electronic 5-piece Etches have the perfect mix of intriguing music, great stage presence and a mind-blowing live show.

Picking up huge support from the likes of XFM and BBC Radio 1 after just their first demo, the band have gone from strength to strength and spent most of 2013 in the studio with Al Groves (The Zutons) and are expected to be a real highlight across the UK in 2014.

The bands cover of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Heard it Through the Grapevine’ hit over 6,000 views in the first few weeks of being online and is one of the highlights of Etches dark, mysterious and simply mind-blowing live shows.

Already picking up massive reviews from the likes of Q Magazine, who were quoted as saying “A slow burning mix of electronica pulses, late-night drive textures and huge, anthemic hooks. Life in the slow lane is paying dividends for this excellent young band.”

Bringing experimental electronic tempo’s, mixed with heavier guitar riffing indie music, there isn’t anything in music quite a intriguing as Etches; latest single ‘The Charm Offensive’ was released in February, with a new EP expected in the next few months.

With the charts so heavy with the same type of music and guitar music starting to turn for the best again, Etches might just hit the fast lane at the perfect time, they certainly wont stay on the outside for much longer.
