LaunchBox: As Elephants Are – Hand Prints

I’ve seemed to have developed a passion for bands or artists with quirky names of late, the name somehow draws me in and As Elephants Are are no exception.

Having played the Reading and Leeds Introducing stage last year, also supporting Half Moon Run, As Elephants Are have honed their craft and have become an asset to the indie scene. Originally from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Robert, Harry, Joe and Ben deal in indie but are not scared to play with their sound, ever growing as a four piece.

Previous singles have been described as sinister to magical and life affirming.

Their latest single, ‘Hand Prints’ is an indie pop gem, Ben’s (for lack of a better world) unusual voice carries the track over a bed of atmospheric guitar licks and running bass line. A second noodling guitar and horns come with the build to the chorus of positive energy and hook laden lyrics.

Out on March 31st, ‘Hand Prints’ is title track taken from the bands new four track EP which is sure to  accompany them on their first fully fledged UK tour in the same month.
