Launchbox: The Delta Slow

London via Glasgow seems like the perfect route for this party-fueled quartet who have more in common with the scuzzy outfits from the USA west coast than with their British peers. This hip-shaking offering is a great example of how DIY-bands are still producing some of the most exciting new music in the capital and ones that we have to sample live!

The whole ethos behind the House Of Savages nights are to celebrate emerging talent in the South-East, but not in a condescending way; in a way that shows just how strong artistic talent is and how grubby garage demos can blossom into our new favourite bands in the space of 20-minutes as we see them live and hear the true performance of each track. With the initial introduction of The Delta Slow via Bandcamp through to their latest EP Dark Lines  that was released last month have reminded me how exciting and fun female-fronted bands can be with tracks like “Don’t Control Me” throwing sass and character in to the ether.

Combined with the rest of the four-band line-up, featuring the debut of Duke Of Wolves and welcoming Crash Island to headline the night, The Delta Slow will service all of you looking for a fix of indie with punk, blues and general broodiness.  Fans of Band Of Skulls through to Dee Dee Ramone will find something to pick at from our honorary Londoners and a head-bop is pretty much compulsory…
