Launchbox: Cultures

Three piece, Alternative Rock band Cultures are creating waves around the music scene in their hometown of Manchester.

They’re going from strength to strength and are on a direct course for success. The trio produce a very simplistic, yet subtly intricate, sound that is set to build upon it’s own high standards.

They have recently released their debut single ‘Away From Us’ which intertwines soft melodies, soothing vocals with upbeat and rhythmic choruses. Josh Spivey’s vocals stand out perfectly in the track and are extremely powerful. His pronunciation is key and is accentuated throughout the track, allowing the lyrics flow seamlessly around the echoing guitar riffs.

The b-side to the debut single, ‘Flags (I’m Screaming)’, is of a high enough calibre to be a standalone single as it mimics the same eye for detail and Eden O’Brien Butcher’s heavy impact drumming moves the song along smoothly.

Cultures are as impressive live as they are recorded as they encapsulate the audience and have them transfixed in a trance from their incredible performance. Spivey and Thomas Deegan’s joint vocals live have an extremely dynamic combination and bring energy and enthusiasm to any audience they as playing to.

Their debut has been played several times on various radio stations across the UK and they are set to move boulders in their strive for progress.
