Rumours of NBC confirming their plans for a 2014 ‘Thanksgiving’ Friends reunion were amidst the internet recently, but co-creator Marta Kauffman has quickly played down any rumours.
Following an article by, unknown media site, Star Media, it was declared that a source close to NBC had informed them that the production giant was planning on reuniting the original cast to release a “2014 Thanksgiving Special” from this iconic sitcom. However, the news spread virally and it wasn’t long until people were anticipating a full season return, following its 9 year absence from our television screens already.
Unfortunately for Friends fans out there, Kauffman declared to E! Online, whilst attending Call Me Crazy première; “I’m going to clear this up—it’s not happening!”
When questioned about the rumoured film release, the co-creator went on to state “Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there’s no need any more”.
This news seems to declare that all Friends related rumours are indeed false, as anticipated, and that we shouldn’t anticipate the sitcom returning to any screen, at any time, in the future.
