For over two decades, John Butler has paved his own path; a political activist, environmental advocate and master of stringed instruments, Butler has consistently fused deep grooves with openhearted storytelling. With PRISM, he steps boldly into a new artistic era. Co-produced with James Ireland (POND, San Cisco), PRISM reclaims Butler’s groove-laden force, brimming with fierce guitars, soaring choruses and introspective lyricism. It’s an album that spans the full spectrum of the human experience and celebrates Butler’s evolution as a solo artist.
“For me, PRISM is a cathartic release,” Butler explains. “It’s a celebration of going solo, moving away from the John Butler Trio moniker, and stretching myself creatively. The title reflects the emotional and sonic bandwidth I wanted to explore.”
