Hours before the release of close-friend Kanye West’s new album, Jay-Z announced via a new samsung advert that he would be releasing a new album of his own in less than a month.
News of ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’, the Brooklyn rapper’s 12th studio album, was broadcast via an advert during Game 5 of the NBA Finals and will be released on the 4th of July. The trailer is below:
The three-minute clip from Samsung shows Jay-Z in the studio with the likes of Rick Rubin, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland deliberating over how to make music in the modern world.
Selected Samsung users will be able to download the album 72 hours ahead of everyone else via a dedicated android app. The first million people to download the application will be eligible for the early download.
