Introducing: Martyn Kingsmill

I stumbled across Martyn Kingsmill at a local music night called Trashy Tuesday’s one week.

What I’ve come to expect from these nights is standard indie-boys with guitars kind of bands, but this time I was greatly surprised by Martyn. His style of laid back, smooth and honest talking pop whisked me away to another would of warmth and feel good times. A change of song and you feel the passion and hurt Martyn delivers through his vocals.

Don’t be afraid if you catch Matryn Kingsmill live and he’s wielding a electric guitar, he can change his style to accommodate, switching from a a twangy acoustic sound to a more atmospheric sound. Stripped back single notes, whilst letting them fill the space and audiences ears before him.

After a quick search on the web, I found some of Martyn’s tracks, my favourite being called ‘The High Road’. It gives me the feel of an eventful night, but a night to remember none the less! The simple acoustic guitar drives the track along with Matryn’s heart felt vocals underneath.

A laid back and honest song to make everything feel all right in the end. Listen and enjoy!
