Not a band that have come from nowhere into major success, Scottish indie rockers Frightened Rabbit have in fact been together since 2003.
With their 4th studio album ‘Pedestrian Verse’ catching they eye of not just myself but many others too, 2013 is set to be a big year for the band and may just give them the break they truly deserve.
Consisting of Scott Hutchison (vocals, guitar), Billy Kennedy (bass), Andy Monaghan (guitar), Grant Hutchison (drums) and Gordon Skene (guitar, keyboard) the early days of the band consisted of just Scott, its noted he said: “the initial line-up in Frightened Rabbit was just myself. I had really only been messing with my 4 track for about 6 months before I started playing some shows on my own.”
‘Sing The Greys’ was the bands debut album way back in 2006 before signing to Fat Cat Records the following year. They went on to release two albums under Fat Cat Records before stepping up to sign with major label Atlantic Records, to who they are still signed to now.
Frightened Rabbit recently embarked on a sold out UK tour, certainly gaining new fans along the way which is only going to push the band further. You can catch the band at some of this summers festivals including their home festival T In The Park.
Us, here at Fortitude, are certainly excited by what 2013 holds for this unique and great band.
