He is the notorious producer of Dubstep and has been recently seen food fighting with Miley Cyrus and a bunch of cakes; for those of you who don’t know him, it’s Borgore.
Asaf Borger, aka Borgore, is the Israeli DJ that is infamous for his wild parties, love for woman and sexual based lyrical content – such as ‘Nympho’, ‘Ice Cream’ and ‘Act Like A Ho’.
However, apart from being the bad boy superstar, he is, also, an entrepreneur whom has begun releasing tracks through his own label, Buygore Records; a label that plays host to artists like Dead Audio, Document One, Kid Alt Dub and much more.
Fortitude Magazine managed to catch up with Borgore prior to his set at Buygore Records’ Allstars Party at Cable, London. Please be aware, this interview won’t be for the faint hearted.
How you feeling today?
I’m incredible!
Do you mind explaining to our readers, how you got into producing Dubstep and what encouraged it?
Yo! It’s not about Dubstep. It’s about music in general and having some really good times. I wouldn’t say that my motivation was Dubstep; my motivation is making people happy, getting people drunk, getting bitches naked and partying hard.
Dubstep, house, drum ‘n’ bass and trap is cool. Music is just amazing in all forms.
You originally featured as a drummer in a death metal band called, Shabira. What caused your transformation?
The transformation is because the thing with a metal band is that you can only make metal music. I just want to make different types. One day I’ll wake up and I feel like making a metal tune, but the other day I’ll wake up and I’ll feel like I am Justin Bieber. You know what I’m saying?
Your Twitter is renowned for a mass coverage of fans sending you pictures of their ass and breasts but, if you had to choose between the two, what do you prefer?
Ass all day! Mate, tits you’ll play with them for a second and you get bored. But if you grab the butt, you can f***ing f**k her man, you know what I mean [laughs].
No, in all seriousness, I’ve never seen a girl have a bad butt and good body, but if her butt is perfect then her whole body will be perfect. The only thing that can f**k up a good butt is pepperoni nipples. Those are just bad.
Social networking aside now, you’ve recently collaborated with Miley Cyrus for your track, ‘Decisions’. How did this collaboration come about?
I just told my management, “I want to do a track with Miley Cyrus!” Basically, me and Miley are under the same umbrella of management – a company called Red Light Management.
So, I went to Miley’s manager’s office like, “Sir, I am Borgore and I want to produce for Miley Cyrus”. He was like, “Oh Borgore, you are like Calvin Harris” and I was just shouting “Yes! Me and Calvin Harris; we’re the same thing. Let’s do this!” Then, next thing I know, he’s like “We like Calvin Harris” and it went from there.
You’ve now established Buygore Records, what has encouraged you to self-release rather than join another label?
The thing with Buygore is we’re to release whatever the f**k we want. So say one day that this kid is sending me his tune, which consists of his mom vomiting, himself having diarrhea whilst someone is playing a flute and it sounds great to me; I’d release it!
I’d believe in it. Buygore is about what I think sounds good and not specified to certain genres.
As we mentioned earlier, we’re here at Buygore’s Allstars Party at Cable; what are people missing out on by not catching you live?
Well, probably a load of girls. I don’t know man. Erm, I think it is a good experience to see myself live.
With a host of single releases, compilation discs and much more, should we anticipate a Borgore album at any point?
I’m going to try to work on an album in January and February. No promises. But I’m taking a quiet step back from touring, as for the past 3 years I’ve been touring practically 4 or 5 shows a week. So, January and February during that quiet break I’m hoping to release an album, hopefully.
I don’t promise anything. If a bunch of Russian girls ask me to play in Russia and offer me enough money to do it, I’m definitely going to go for that instead. I’m sorry man, but you try and say no to Russian girls! It’s impossible, they’re very convincing.
You’re obviously a huge fan of the Olsen twins, but what other celebrity would you let have a slice of your cake?
My favourite right now and this is my ambition in life; Taylor Swift. She is so hot [heads off into a dream state]. Her track ‘Never Ever Getting Back Together’ is a good tune too.
