Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band To Release ‘High Hopes’ In 2014

For the past two years, unless you’ve been off the face of the earth, departed somewhere within the realms of the solar system and lost in a stellar galactic supernova, you’d know that ‘The Boss’ has shook the music industry on a global scale.

Performing night after night across disperse nations for the past two years on behalf of 2012 album, ‘Wrecking Ball’, Bruce and the boys have worked their craft to ignite a new generation of tramps and winners, losers and sinners, all in the name of rock and roll.

‘High Hopes’, written by Tim Scott McConnel, was first recorded by Springsteen back in 1995 as part of a ‘Greatest Hits’ record promotion. The song has since been revived time and time again throughout the bands latest – and never ending – tour. This week, the boys have re-released ‘High Hopes’ as their latest single, though this time to promote their new record. Simply titled with the albums opening track ‘High Hopes’, the album is set to be released January 14th, 2014.

The album has been in recording since May 2013 with studio sessions taking place along side the Wrecking Ball tour. However, with Steve ‘Miami’ Van Zandt away recording series two of hit comedy-drama ‘Lilyhammer’, it is Rage Against the machine’s very own Tom Morello who has played the part of lead guitarist on eight out of the ten tracks. Worry not though E-treet Nation! for the loss of Little Stevens crisp & clean guitar work is made up for the revival of late E-Street Saxophonist Clarence Clemons floor splitting solo’s, via pre-recorded material on tracks such as ‘American Skin’ and ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’.

‘Harry’s Place’, written by Bruce in 2001 and intended for the album ‘The Rising’, and ‘The Wall’, a throw-back track written in 1998 are two of the hidden gems thrown out by the E-Street Band that also make a come back on ‘High Hopes’.

After releasing ‘Wrecking Ball’ Bruce declared that he feels as though ”the band are playing better than they’ve played before and they are writing just a much” – maybe all of this rock and roll nostalgia is the result of The E-Street Band embracing a sense of unity within their troop as well as reaching incomprehensible heights in their career this past decade.
