Forget the turkey, it’s all about the ducks in India

Christmas is a time for Santa, receiving presents and letting the grown-ups drink. Well it used to be.

The festive season is now a time for eating and drinking excessively with you’re family and friends, and of course watching some truly brilliant sport.

Not only are we being treated to the busy, hectic and season shaping December in football. We are also being gripped by England’s exploits in India as they look to accomplish a rare test series win in India.

To begin with football, there has been some astounding developments and some to follow come the Christmas period. Chelsea still might sneak a place into Champions League but their league form has to improve under the already under-pressure Rafael Benitez. Who suspiciously looks like Al from Toy Story.

After Arsenal’s defeat (A thoroughly deserved one) to Swansea at home, Arsene Wenger is perhaps now facing the most severe pressure from the Gunners faithful that he has ever faced and can’t afford a disappointing Christmas.

The relegation battle is showing signs of clubs who will definteley face a relegation battle this season, but not one club seems a certainty to be in the bottom three. Queens Park Rangers are currently sitting bottom without a win, but with the recent appointment of Harry Redknapp, a revival is surely on the cards?

Sunderland, Aston Villa, Reading and Southampton will defintely be scrapping for every point, and as every December seems to bring, a couple of clubs will be dragged in.

Not so long ago England’s cricket team was flying high as number one in the world, but to explain the current situation seems like same old England.

Player’s are falling out with eachother and alledgedly texting rival international team mates and defeats are becoming the regular, so what preparation to take on the test series in India.

It is possibly the most difficult task England can face. After their battering and humbling defeat in the first test, England then rectified this with an incoming Monty Panesar helping England level the series with a win in test two.

This puts the series in a nice balance, and the third test which will be played over the festive season will be as intriguing as ever and one which maybe England can find that unbelievable form.

So don’t worry if you don’t fancy watching a repeat of Morecambe and Wise or a Shane Richie entertainment special. Quality sport is never too far away during December, except the 25th, I’m afraid that’s a date you’ll have to find your own sporting fix.

Soilders in the Great War did it, be lazy if you didn’t.
