The first official trailer for John Green’s now cult classic novel among young adults, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ has been unveiled today by 20th Century Fox. It’s quite easy to weep after reading Green’s book and it looks like director Josh Boone has gone for a similar atmosphere; I’m sure plenty people will have their Kleenex at the ready.
Starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Egort as Hazel and Augustus, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ is the story of two teenagers who meet and fall in love at a Cancer Support group.
The unveiling of the trailer follows some slight controversy about the film poster’s tagline that surfaced earlier this week, reading ‘One Sick Love Story’. Some fans protested to this, deeming it insensitive to the subject matter of cancer.
Green was quick to respond to the discussion by publishing a long post on his Tumblr including ‘I like the tag line because it says, literally, the sick can also have love stories.’
The film is currently scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on the 20th of June 2014.
