F1 Legend Michael Schumacher Out of Coma

Seven time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has come out of his coma after almost six months after a Skiing accident whilst he was on holiday in the French Alps last December.

In a statement from his Management they said: “His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months.”

The 45 year old will now be moved to a rehabilitation centre to continue his recovery from the Skiing accident where he fell and hit his head on a rock causing mass swelling around the brain, where it was believed that his helmet, shattered in the process, saved his life. It was noted after the investigation into the accident that he was going at speeds of a “very good skier”.

When the news of the German’s accident broke, tributes and messages of well wishes to Michael and his family flooded in from social media and the world of F1, with his former team Mercedes having the message “#GetWellSoonMichael” on their cars for every race this season.

His family have wished for privacy at this time and refused to mention where Schumacher was being moved to. They also noted that this will not be a speedy recovery when they said “it was clear from the start that this will be a long and hard fight for Michael”.

Schumacher won seven world titles throughout his 19 years in Formula One, breaking many records whilst racing for three different teams before he retired in 2012.
