EP Review: K V A S I R – ‘K V A S I R’

Innovative, and somewhat mysterious, solo electronic artist K V A S I R has just released his debut self-titled EP – an insight into his unique, enticing style of dance music. Hugely influenced by the way in which music combines with visual elements in film, and recently particularly impressed by the work of SURVIVE (Stranger Things), K V A S I R is an eclectic and inspired collection of four tracks.

Opening track ‘Motion’ flows with eerie undertones alongside a driving, vibrant energy, throbbing beats and glitchy electro hooks. Oozing a joyous sense of calm, it evokes images of a hazy, post-night-out dawn.

This is followed by ‘Exchange’ – the highlight of the collection. Inspired by Oliver Stone’s ‘Wall Street’, it exudes a fitting cinematic intensity as it builds to an uplifting grandeur. As twinkling electronic melodies race alongside pulsating beats, it flows with an impressive soaring splendour and distinct ‘80s-inspired sound. Next track ‘Lyon’ is a reflective creation; a sparkling slice of electro with haunting undertones, it’s filled with nostalgic shades of ‘90s dance music.

Closing the EP is ‘First Throws’. Following on from ‘Exchange’, it reflects on how wealth and greed are brought about by our capitalist society. Bursting with a climactic energy, it’s filled with effervescent electronic melodies alongside pounding beats and K V A S I R’s profound, insightful observations on the world in which we live.

With its rich musical layers and modern take on dance music, K V A S I R offers an innovative fusion of sounds, creating a truly unique sonic delight.

K V A S I R is out now on KV10 Records.
