EP review: Humble Braggers ‘Cycle’

Sadly its starting to feel like the summer is well and truly coming to an end, and what a summer its been! But fear not, because Humble Braggers (great name) are here with a vibrant new EP to get you through those drizzly autumn days.

‘Cycle’ is undeniably catchy from the offset and instantly reminds us of the likes of Hot Chip and Empire of The Sun. Previous single and absolute banger ‘Reckless’ is instantly memorably and the production is second-to -none. Filled with driving synth beats and mesmerising vocals from front man Tom Burtless, ‘Reckless’ will have your toes tapping in seconds. The band’s most recent single ‘Am I Okay’ is equally impressive, filled with sweeping vocals and some wonderfully twinkling keys, you will be instantly transported back to those shimmering summer evenings on the beach.

The EP, as a whole, is apparently inspired by “bad decisions and the regret that follows having too much fun” and we can totally relate. Not only is this EP musically exquisite, but its highly relatable. Each track slides easily into each other, feeling totally succinct and undeniably celestial. Let’s hope these dudes make there way over to the UK in the very near future.

‘Cycle’ is out now via Admirable Traits.
