EP Review: The Good Manners ‘Godspeed’

We’re a little late to the game with this one (forgive us, please!), but we can assure you The Good Manners are definitely worth the wait. Their debut EP ‘Godspeed’ is full of funkadelic vignettes that are bound to wipe those winter blues away in no time.

Kicking off with the funk-infused ‘Good Times’, the previous single feels instantly reminiscent of the likes of Jamiroquai. Its slick, its suave and everyone’s in it for a good time, which is what we love.

Next up is ‘Mi Amor’, a song that clearly showcases the duo’s latin roots in all the right ways and will probably make you want to book a flight Guatemala straight away, but you can’t, sorry…

A personal favourite of ours is ‘High Roller’, another infectious slice of funky retro-soul that will get your toes tapping in no time. Fans of the likes of Vulfpeck and Sly & The Family Stone will feel it home here.

Throughout this eclectic EP there are so many high notes and very few low notes to be honest. If you’re not a funk fan, then this probably isn’t few you, but if you are, you’re in for one hell of a treat.

‘Godspeed’ is out now.
