EP Review: Ben Harvey – Two

Following on from last year’s ‘One’ EP, Sussex singer/songwriter Ben Harvey has bounced back with the aptly titled ‘Two’ EP, set to drop on October 23rd.

Resembling an influential spark of Passenger-esque songwriting in ‘One’, Ben has stayed firm to his roots with this EP while encapsulating a deeper thread throughout the four track duration.

Opening on ‘Turn Off The Light’, we’re already off to a smashing start. The acoustic dialog of love and loss resonating throughout the track is one of pertinent lyrics and an accompanying melody.

Think About You’ pulls quality right out of the bag with a perfect sing-along chorus and a filling of backing vocals sprucing the entire ambience of the sound to the next level of the singer/songwriter genre.

Closing track ‘It’s Just Love’ definitely wouldn’t look out of place on Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ with it’s heart-wrenching lyrics pulled with a repetitive chorus of “it’s just love” and a layered backing of “I’m never gonna let you go”.

Ben Harvey’s ‘Two’ EP is a big step up from ‘One’ while so importantly keeping all familiarities in place. Ben has found his niche, it’s a case of experimenting above the roots; and that’s exactly what ‘Two’ does.

Two’ EP is available to Pre-Order HERE.
